Oxford University Chemistry and Biochemistry Society
University of Oxford
Founded in 2009, the Oxford University Chemistry and Biochemistry Society (OUCB) (recently rebranded from the Oxford University Chemistry Society), is one of the largest student-run societies in Oxford, comprising around 500 members. OUCB appeals to a wide variety of both undergraduates and postgraduates. Our membership currently consists mostly of chemists although we are expecting a large increase in biochemists in the coming year due to our rebranding. We also have a sizeable number of members studying for other science degrees, as well as humanities students with a non-academic interest in chemistry.
Each term we aim to give our members the opportunity to listen to speakers who are leaders in their field of study, alongside fantastic social events. We also partner up with employers to host career events - the all-important chance for our members to learn more about different jobs within and outside of Chemistry and to network with representatives of leading companies.
