University of Nottingham Karate Club
University of Nottingham
The University of Nottingham Karate Club is a diverse club that welcomes all karateka from total beginners to experienced athletes. Whilst our club's grading syllabus is Shotokan, we have members experienced all major karate styles. As a result members are able to get the most of out of their karate experience with the club learning a wide range of techniques for both competition and self-defence.
Competition is a major part of the club and we are 2020 BUCS University National Champions. We compete multiple times a year in external events and varsity events, the most important and largest being the British University Championships at the BUCS Nationals in February. However, although we train hard a social is never far away and the club has a lively social scene.
