University of Lincoln
The UoL Engineering Society, associated with the Lincoln Students’ Union, provides opportunities for members to engage in engineering activities outside of a classroom environment. It is run by students, for students, and offers a wide range of activities including design and manufacturing projects, industrial trips and support with developing industry skills.
Projects we have participated in include the ‘Mercmillan’ pedal-powered boat designed in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz Boston which raised £12,000 for Macmillan, and our ongoing Soapbox Project where we’re designing and manufacturing a soapbox gravity racer to take to a selection of local events with the ambition to take it to a Red Bull Soapbox event in the future.
In the future, we are looking to diversify our offerings to students, increase our project portfolio and look at new and interesting ways to help members develop their engineering skills.
