University of Bristol
The University of Bristol Sailing Club is an active figure in campus life at Bristol Uni and a leading sports team on the national sailing circuit. With 120 members in 2019/20 (having increased from 50 in 2 years and projecting to continue expanding) the club fosters a buzzing social community and significant campus presence.
The club offers students both racing and social sailing. In 2019 the club was awarded 'Performance Sport' status by the University of Bristol. This is an award given to the 8 leading sports teams in attainment, drive and inclusivity. The racing part of the club consists of Team racing, Yachting and Match racing where our teams compete on the national stage against other universities. The social sailing that the club offers is run at Baltic Warf and aims to get as many people on the water as possible whether that be first time give it a go sessions or a sunny afternoon sail with your friends. We aim to offer teaching from the most experienced sailors in the club to share our love of sailing to as many people as we can.
The club also hosts several major events each year, the biggest of which are the Bristol Brew and Summer sail week. The Bristol Brew is a team racing event that brings 18 teams from different universities and sailing clubs around the country (130 people in 2019) to Bristol for racing a socials. Summer Sail Week is a week long flotilla holiday in the med that is advertised across the whole campus. In 2019 we sold 120 tickets. Other events include: BUCS Nationals Qualifiers, Welcome Fair, Summer Sail Week-Croatia Yacht Trip, Alumni weekend, Bring a Friend Sailing Day, Weekly Socials.
We have a lot to offer and would love to hear from you. We aim to build sponsorship relationships over a number of years that can foster great opportunities for both your brand and our members.
