Malaysian and Singaporean Student's Association. Bristol

University of Bristol

Comprising over 560 undergraduate and postgraduate students, the Malaysian and Singaporean Students’ Association (MSSA) is one of the largest international student societies at the University of Bristol, U.K. A strongly cultural society, the MSSA seeks to represent the rich heritages of Malaysia and Singapore in Bristol, and allow others a glimpse into our cultures and traditions.
Additionally, the MSSA serves as a platform that unites Malaysian and Singaporean students, many of whom are living abroad and independently for the first time, and catalyses the development of life-long friendships. More importantly, the MSSA exists as a strong support structure, providing a source of comfort for international students far from home. Our social events, frequent gatherings and parenting scheme enhance rapport and camaraderie within the society, and also foster closely knitted bonds between the MSSA and other Bristolian societies. At present, 13 other student societies at the University of Bristol are collaborating with the MSSA.
Beyond the cultivation of social connections, the MSSA also seeks to promote opportunities for professional growth and development. Career talks, networking, and internship opportunities are stepping stones for students to explore career options and connect with potential employers, including our sponsors. The MSSA’s vast membership not only supplies a huge network for the dissemination of career-oriented information, but also provides an invaluable opportunity for direct, holistic engagement with a significant percentage of the Bristolian student body.
