UCC Science Society
University College Cork
In UCC Science Society, our goals are to promote interest and encourage participation in Science throughout campus. The UCC Science Society was founded in 1989 and has since grown to become the third largest Society in UCC with over 1700 active members. The Society is responsible for representing almost 2000 students from the colleges of Science, Engineering and Food Science (SEFS) as well as organising Academic and Social events for members of the society, the largest of which being our annual Science Ball in January which hosts 1500 students.
Over the past year we hosted a variety of creative and exciting events during the academic year. These included academic talks, fundraisers and competitions, UCC Science Week, a trip abroad with 25 of our members to CERN, a conference on Women in Science and Technology and Science Ball.
