King's College London United Nations Association
King's College London
KCL United Nations Association is a student society which celebrates the plurality of ideas in international relations and offers our members skill-based training workshops in public speaking, negotiation and crisis management. Since our founding in 2014, we have grown to become one of the most successful Model UN debate societies in the UK, winning awards at the prestigious Oxford, Cambridge and Harvard Universities simulation conferences and helping our members to become confident and knowledgeable leaders.
We are proud to have a diverse membership which brings together students from 30 countries and 15 university departments, including medicine, law and international relations. Our members are united by a shared interest in international affairs and a drive for personal development as well as supporting local communities. This attitude which has proven to be the driving force behind the recent establishment of Thames Model United Nations, a venture which aims to tackle socioeconomic imbalances in the Model UN community by offering less-privileged students in London schools the chance to participate in debate simulations. Our affiliation with United Nations Association UK (UNA-UK) gives our members the chance to see world-class speakers from fields including international relations and public policy discuss some of the world’s most pressing issues, and we are currently in the process of developing our own programme of academic and networking events.
As a society, KCL United Nations Association is motivated by broadening the horizons of our members, equipping them with strong skillsets and preparing them for bright careers. We are excited at the prospect of partnering with organisations which are well-placed to further these goals and can put our members firmly on the path of achieving them.
